Vital Research for Disabled Veterans

Paralyzed Veterans of America – Wisconsin Chapter (PVA-WI) uses its Research and Education efforts to focus on supporting those with the expertise to make a difference in the lives of our members. From ground breaking research studies being undertaken at institutions across the country, to product tests taking place right here in Wisconsin, we support efforts by connecting our members to these studies and by offering grants as well.

Through our efforts, we hope to share expertise in spinal cord injury or disease (SCI/D) treatment, encourage individuals to begin or maintain a career caring for those with SCI/D, and be a resource to professional and non-professional caregivers.

Programs:

  • We connect with VA satellite locations and other health centers with spinal cord injury or disease centers around the state to establish information sharing
  • We host lunch-in-learn programs around the state to share knowledge and updated care information with those caring for veterans with spinal cord injury or disease
  • We host a continuing education conference for Veterans Affairs staff so that they may meet their continuing education requirements without significant travel or expense
