PVA-WI & CareLinx Partnership: Caregiver Respite Program

Paralyzed Veterans of America - Wisconsin Chapter (PVA-WI) has continued a partnership with CareLinx to support our families who need additional support with caregiver respite and caregiving. PVA-WI, through funding support from Bader Philanthropies, has partnered with CareLinx t to provide 15 hours of free care to full members residing in Wisconsin, who are eligible to participate in this program. PVA-WI will be billed for the fifteen hours of care. PVA-WI is excited to partner with these organizations. The program begins in October of 2023.

Dole Caregiver Fellows

Dole Caregiver Fellows are the heart and soul of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Hidden Heroes. They are military and veteran caregivers from across the nation who are carefully selected each year to represent the Foundation in a formal capacity.

Through the Dole Caregiver Fellowship, caregivers receive dedicated support, leadership training, opportunities for professional growth, a network of 250+ former Fellows, and a well-respected platform to address the issues impacting the community. They also share their stories directly with national leaders and decision makers within the business, entertainment, faith, and nonprofit sectors to transform the culture of care in our country.

The Foundation typically onboards 10-15 Fellows each year.

Free Help for Military & Veteran Caregivers

As someone who cares for a military or veteran spouse, child, parent, or friend, we know your days are packed with responsibilities. Would having an extra pair of hands help free you up to invest a little more time in yourself? Could you make it to that doctor’s appointment you’ve been meaning to get to, or sit in a park and read a book, catch up with a loved one, or just take a break?

Free respite care could be just what you’ve been looking for.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation has created a new program, Respite Relief for Military and Veteran Caregivers, which offers family caregivers of veterans or service members access to free, short-term relief with the help of in-home care professionals.

CareLinx provided a generous contribution to launch the first phase of this program and issued a call for others to join. AARP and other partners are responding to this call to support military and veteran caregivers during this challenging time. Thanks to a contribution from Wounded Warrior Project, the Respite Relief program is available nationwide.
