Frank Smith - U.S. Marine

Frank Smith, a new athlete at this year’s National Veteran Wheelchair Games (NVWG), didn’t let his novice status stop him from taking home the gold. Proudly representing the Wisconsin Chapter, Frank competed in several events during the games, including archery (winning a Gold medal), powerlifting (winning a Silver medal), table tennis (winning a Bronze medal), air rifle, and boccia ball. Reflecting on his experience, he expressed, "Participating in the NVWG has truly opened my eyes. It has allowed me to recognize my capabilities as an athlete and has given me the insight to see all that I can achieve. My identity is not limited by the wheelchair I use."
